No interactions were found between atorvastatin and Glucophage. You should limit your consumption of grapefruit juice to no more than 1 quart per day during treatment with atorvastatin. Metformin improves how the body responds to insulin and it is effective for the treatment of type 2 diabetes. Normally, insulin would instruct cells to remove sugar from the blood, but in people with diabetes blood sugar levels can climb too high. High levels of potassium can cause weakness, irregular heartbeat, confusion, tingling of the extremities, or feelings of heaviness in the legs.
Signs of low blood sugar include headache, hunger, weakness, dizziness, drowsiness, nervousness, sweating, confusion, and tremor. You may experience headache, dizziness, lightheadedness, fainting, and/or changes in pulse or heart rate. You may need a dose adjustment or need your blood pressure checked more often if you take both medications.
